One of the best places to enjoy your honeymoon in Thailand is Phuket. Romantic tips like the following could help to liven up your time here and make it a lot more memorable. While you could certainly just enjoy the island’s many fantastic beaches, there are plenty of fun activities you could do which would make your first holiday as husband and wife that little bit more special. Here are some of the best.
Visit Phang Nga Bay
The dramatic limestone landscape of the nearby province of Phang Nga is well worth visiting whether you’re on honeymoon or not, but newlyweds will especially get a kick out of exploring some of the more noteworthy attractions in a kayak. Don’t worry – you don’t need to do any of the paddling yourself. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the absolutely stunning scenery together. The pillars of rock towering out of the emerald waters, in some cases forming isolated lagoons, are a must-see.
Tandem Bungy Jump
You’ve already taken one plunge together, so jumping off a 50-metre-tall crane over a natural lagoon in jungle should be a breeze! Admittedly, this is not the sort of idea that typically graces lists of Phuket romantic tips, but it’s an extremely exhilarating (and safe) experience.
Zip-Lining
Again, this probably isn’t what you expected to see in a selection of Phuket romantic tips, but there are several zip-lining courses around the island. Each gives you a unique opportunity to explore the jungle canopy and are a lot of very safe fun. Sadly, there’s no tandem option for this one.
Sunset Cruise
Back to the more traditionally romantic ideas. Phuket is surrounded by beautiful little tropical islands, which are certainly interesting to explore during the day. If you take an afternoon cruise, you should find yourself heading back towards port on Phuket around sunset, which is an absolutely amazing experience. The final rays of light reflecting off the Andaman Sea are utterly entrancing. The snorkelling, swimming and relaxing on beautiful white-sand beaches during the day almost seem like nothing more than a bonus by comparison.
Dine on the Beach
If you’re going to spend your honeymoon on an island with more than 30 beaches, it would be a pity not to make the most of that that splendid shoreline. There are some absolutely fantastic beachfront restaurants to try, so you can make every mealtime memorable.
